tree

tree bark. not much else to say, except i thought is was cool.

dwelling, part I

oh, how i fought with this one! i eventually decided to leave it in color so that you could get a sense for the warmth and lived-in-ness of the stone. that new mexico sun at high noon just does murder to the highlights, though... the handrail and cushy steps are modern (obviously, i hope), exclusively for the benefit of our young ones, snow birds, and the forest service's liability insurance. i like to imagine being here without such conveniences.

dear ndrw

this is our incomparable friend andrew who came with us to NM, and whom we are all missing terribly.

i have many many pictures from our trip, but have not had time to post them yet...will do soon, i hope. but for now my ambitions extend only as far as my bed, and trying to jump-start my enthusiasm for the daily grind. i also just revisited my good friend spencer's blog which chronicles his horticultural adventures in panama city while he busily out-does himself (and us all, really) in saving the world. now that i feel entirely complacent and lazy, i highly suggest you give him a visit. it's nothing short of amazing. yeah, and i know him. that's all for now, and as always, i greatly appreciate your comments (note the handy feature at the the bottom right of this post...).
